Macao, 27 August 2015 - CESL Asia held its Kids Movie Day for the fifth consecutive year. CESL Asia Social Investment (CSI) Team, led around 80 kids to enjoy the animation movie, Doraemon - Nobita and the Space Heroes, followed by a joyful lunch party at McDonald’s restaurant in Macao Science Center.

CESL Asia invited the less fortunate kids from four local child care institutions, Cradle of Hope Association, Caritas Family Services, ECF Macau Fellowship Orphanage, and Mong-Há Children and Youth Home. With this event the company aims to provide a day of joy and warmth to the kids and support their families and caretakers, while providing an invaluable opportunity to enrich CESL Asia and its team with the experience of developing and executing a successful social investment project.

To enhance our young guests’ experience at the movies, our CSI Team specially purchased gift sets made and packaged by mentally and physically disabled individuals from Fu Hong Association and distributed the gifts to the kids participating in the event.

McDonald’s Macau continued to render support to this event by sponsoring lunch meals to the participating kids. Their Managing Director, Ms. Michelle Ho joined Mr. Antonio Trindade, the President and CEO of CESL Asia, together with his senior management and CSI Team for the lunch party and enjoyed a great time with the kids. The presence of Ronald McDonald further enlivened the pleasant atmosphere and he delighted the already excited kids with fantastic magic show, attracting continuous exhilarated laughter and cheers of all participants.

Believing that those youngsters are extremely important for the future of our company, CESL Asia, through its Social Investment Program which was established 15 years ago with a charter that includes a specific mandate, as part of the company annual business plans, develops its own programs in support of youth and community development.

Macao, 18 July 2015 - Macau Special Olympics (MSO) hosted its “2015 CESL Asia & MSO Bocce Game Event” at the MSO headquarter on 18 July. The event was planned on the hope that, through the bocce game, mentally-challenged people or students with special education needs would be motivated to participate in sport activities, which are believed to be beneficial to their physical and mental health.

Macao, 18 July 2015 - Macau Special Olympics (MSO) hosted its “2015 CESL Asia & MSO Bocce Game Event” at the MSO headquarter on 18 July. The event was planned on the hope that, through the bocce game, mentally-challenged people or students with special education needs would be motivated to participate in sport activities, which are believed to be beneficial to their physical and mental health. In an expression of their enthusiasm to foster social integration of able-bodied and disabled persons, volunteers from CESL Asia – Investments & Services, Limited also took part in the bocce game and participated with the players.

The activity attracted around 100 participants, including mentally-challenged individuals from special schools, sheltered workshops, caring centers and residential homes as well as their parents. The game encouraged participation of non-athletes by classifying them into various groups on basis of their ages and skills. All participants enjoyed very much their experience of the game.

This was the third consecutive year of CESL Asia’s sponsorship of the bocce game. On the day of the event, more than 20 enthusiastic volunteers from CESL Asia convened to play with the students, with an aim to enact the spirit of integrating able-bodied and disabled individuals and to promote social acceptance for special groups in our community.

At the same time, this game served as a performance test for the MSO Bocce Team prior attending the international competition.

Representatives from CESL Asia, Macao Sport Development Board, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Macao Sports Committee and other agencies also attended the event and granted the winning athletes awards as encouragement.

Macao, 16 May 2015 – CESL Asia organized the ‘2015 CESL Asia and Friends Invitational Charity Football Tournament’ at Hac Sa Park, Coloane on the 16th of this month. The event has raised a total of MOP 40,000 for which a cheque was presented by, Mr. António Trindade, the President and CEO of CESL Asia, to Mr. Hetzer Siu, the CEO of Macau Special Olympics. The tournament were won by BNU and CESL Asia after several rounds of keen competition.

The philanthropic event was jointly sponsored and supported by Macau Coco-Cola Beverage Co. Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, SA as well as Milton Exhibits & Engineering (Macau) Ltd.

Through its non-profit ‘CESL Asia Social Investment Fund’, CESL Asia invited local companies and organizations to participate in this charitable event and raised funds for the Macau Special Olympics, helping local people with intellectual disabilities take part in regular exercises and recreational activities. Such charitable acts could arouse more concern in local business organizations and communities for Macau people with intellectual disabilities, in tandem with a promotion of corporate social responsibility.

Macau Special Olympics provides people with intellectual disabilities free sport training, tournaments and recreational activities in various degrees on year-round basis, hoping to encourage development both physically and mentally so that these people can explore their potential, enhance self-confidence, and cope with possible challenges in future. At the same time, it not only allows these less fortunate to experience an enhanced sense of meaning in their lives, but also enable the community to have a better understanding and acceptance of them.

SMARTABLE Laundries with their state-of-the-art facilities, now under CESL Asia’s management, will further enhance the value of this service to its clients, further broadening their extensive presence in the industry market. The company enjoys a vast client-base including most of the international high-end resort hotels and casinos across the city, namely Sheraton Macao Hotel, Conrad Macao at Sands Cotai Central, City of Dreams Macau, Galaxy Resort Complex in Macau and MGM Macau. Macao, 9 March 2015 - The president and CEO of CESL Asia Mr. Antonio Trindade last Saturday (7 March 2015) led the group’s social investment volunteers to the Macao Blood Transfusion Service Centre for collective blood donation, continuing as an exemplary role in engaging in local socially worthy activities for the public.

Realizing the importance of maintaining sufficient blood supply for the city, Mr. Trindade wished that their proactive involvement in the collective blood donation could encourage the rest of the company or even the society to take the initiative to save lives by contributing to local blood banks. The corporation’s blood donation activity has seen more than 20 staff attending, many of whom hoped that the company could organize more socially beneficial activities in the future.

In 2000, CESL Asia introduced the non-profit “CESL Asia Social Investment” fund with an objective to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and physical well-being of the community and staff members. Each year, CESL Asia in partnership with its team members and other like-minded organizations provides valuable resources in support of the objectives established in the Social Investment Program. Macao, 13 October 2014 – For seniors and elderly couples living alone this autumn, it was a time to be cared for. A group of volunteers from CESL Asia presented hand-knitted scarves and daily necessities to the elderly and ‘Peng On Tung’ Tele-Assistance service users during individual visits to their homes on 11 October 2014.

A group of volunteers from CESL Asia presented hand-knitted scarves and daily necessities to the elderly and ‘Peng On Tung’ Tele-Assistance service users during individual visits to their homes on 11 October 2014.
This came on the heels of a charity sale held on the ground floor of the AIA Tower by CESL Asia in its previous day, raising a total of MOP20,779.67 for the city’s ‘Peng On Tung’ Tele-Assistance Service Center. The company’s President and CEO Mr. António Trindade presented a cheque in the ceremony at the service center early on the visit day.
The visits were overwhelmed by the volunteer group’s enthusiasm, care and concerns to the elderly. The seniors recipients warmly welcomed the volunteers to their home visits and were very delighted with the handmade scarves and gifts. Through conversation, the volunteer team was able to gain a fuller understanding of daily life of the elderly and how the tele-assistance service could benefit the elderly in terms of their residential safety and convenience. It is hoped that more public awareness can be drawn to the seniors and more services can also put in place to address their needs in future.
CESL Asia has always shown attentive care to local seniors by organizing various activities and visits. Its Social Investment Program does not only prove its leading role in the works of benevolence within the local community, but also helps improve the company’s culture and environment, paving a way to establish a sustainable company that provides benefits to its staff.

Everyone had an unforgettable experience on that day.

The organiser expressed hopes that, through the bocce game, mentally-challenged people or students with special education needs were encouraged to engage in sports activities believed to be conducive to their self-discovery of talents and interests.

The bocce game welcomed mentally-challenged people from local special schools, sheltered workshops, caring centres and residential cares as well as their parents. Participants enjoyed the game in groups based on their ages and skills with delights. Volunteers from CESL Asia interacted with the game players with enthusiasm throughout the bocce game, adding to the enormous joy on that day.

In support of the development of social works for years, CESL Asia launched its “CESL Asia Social Investment” fund in 2000 for the social vulnerable group in the city. With the sponsorship by CESL Asia, the bocce game embodied the group’s long-standing support for the local sport development of people with mental disabilities and also the relentless contribution in building a harmonious society.

Present at the game were also representatives and guests respectively from CESL Asia, Macau Sport Development Board, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Sports Committee, who joined the award presentation later.

After several rounds of fierce competition, the championship went to Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong. The tournament raised a total of MOP 50,000. Mr. Antonio Trindade, the President & CEO of CESL Asia was honoured to present a check to Mr. Hetzer Siu, the CEO of the Macao Special Olympics.

The objective of the charitable tournament is to raise funds for the ‘Sensory Integration Treatment Plan’ of Macau Special Olympics and, at the same time, to draw the attention of different sectors in Macau to local disadvantaged children. The treatment plan helps children with developmental delay, attention deficits, autism, hyperactivity, dyslexia, and other special educational needs. In accordance with the individual needs of children, the treatment plan can provide tailor-make assessments and trainings, which aim to improve self-care, social adaption and learning abilities. The treatment and assessment items include enhancing small muscles, visual spatial concepts, social skills, and motor sensory integration skills, among other things.

CESL Asia wishes to connect with other renowned organizations which share the company’s interest in caring for the underprivileged in society. CESL Asia encourages employees to
participate in sports events not only for their own health benefits, but also for the opportunity to connect with those with intellectual disabilities by expressing acceptance and promoting equality. Such acts reflect CESL’s corporate social responsibility and help intellectually disabled individuals integrate into our community.
