The “CESL Asia and Friends Sport Fun Day” held on November 27th at Macau Federation of Trade Unions Workers Stadium brought together 21 entities and over 200 participants, and raised MOP 110,000 in donations to Macau Special Olympics (MSO).

The event that took place for the sixth consecutive year was launched by CESL Asia Corporate Social Investment Initiative (CSII) to support MSO athletes’ development programs and promote values of equality and inclusion within the community.

Competing in the Football and Bocce tournament of this annual event were teams from partnering entities and organizations. All teams were joined by MSO athletes and everyone enjoyed one more day full of enthusiasm and inspiration, learnings about overcoming challenges through building confidence and with a transforming impact. We all won and celebrated with the trophy winners together: Macau Institution of Engineers was crowned champion of the “Corporate Football Tournament”, and Bank of China and Macau Association for Parents of People with Developmental Disabilities’ “Set Sail” were crowned champion of the “Golden Cup and Silver Plate Corporate Inclusive Bocce Tournament”.

To allow MSO athletes to try new sports activities, Sporting Clube de Macau set up a Sporting Trial Zone where those athletes experienced the thrill of football training with professional players. Families were also invited to experience an afternoon of healthy living outdoors by practicing sports.

CESL Asia President and CEO Mr. António Trindade said: "We can see from testimonials from our employees who volunteer to participate at the event, from the growing involvement of our partners, and from what’s being shared by MSO families that the impact of this CESL Asia and Friends Sport Fun Day is quite broad and transformational. It demonstrates the importance of challenging prejudices and inspiring people to support others and improve the health and the well-being of everyone".

This year is the 35th anniversary of MSO and we are honored to be their long-term and likeminded partner, and hoping to continue growing the community with MSO in a sustainable way.
