The award ceremony for the "Sustainable City and Green Future 4-Panel Comic Drawing Contest," organised by CESL Asia in partnership with the Macau Youth Art Association, was successfully held on 11th September at McDonald's, Macao Science Centre.

Now in its fifth year, this educational and entertaining children's drawing contest on sustainability and quality of life in our city has continued to receive strong support from the community. This year’s competition attracted over 100 students, aged 8 to 14, from more than 20 schools and institutions across Macau. Their artwork vividly expressed aspirations for sustainable urban development and a greener future, featuring themes such as renewable energy, smart cities, green transportation, and environmental actions—all creatively illustrated with a unique personal style.

Reflecting on the contest's continued success, Mr António Trindade, President and CEO of CESL Asia, said: "I am delighted to see the tremendous support from students, teachers, and schools in Macau over the past five years. This contest has enabled the younger generation to explore the importance of sustainability and green living in our city through art. The entries this year, presented in an engaging comic strip format, encouraged participants to delve deeper into environmental and sustainability concepts, helping to raise public awareness of the need for an eco-friendly future."

Judge Mr Lai Sio Kit, President of the Macau Youth Art Association, praised the participants for their inspiring narratives, which showcased the imagination of the new Macanese generation for a sustainable future.

A total of 33 winners were recognised for their outstanding submissions: the Gold Award was presented to Chan Chi U (Sacred Heart Canossian College, English Section), the Silver Award to Tam Cheng Hei (Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai), the Bronze Award to Lio Hoi Cheng (Escola Hou Kong, Primary); the Online Popularity Award to Chiang Hei Lam (Escola Secundária Pui Va); and the Organisation Supporting Artistry Awards went to Escola Hou Kong (Primary), Escola Tak Meng, and Escola Secundária Pui Ching, based on the number of participants. In addition, 30 works were selected by the jury for special commendation.
