Macau, 26 March 2014 – CESL Asia, a Macau company that distinguishes itself for developing local talent to provide world-class green service solutions, has been working with clients and partners to foster a greener society, introducing innovative and environmentally friendly solutions that help to minimize the environmental impact arising from businesses activities.

For the company, to think out-of-the-box is critical to respond to the local market’s opportunities and because it's market leadership — even relevance — is only attainable if the company remains innovative in introducing higher value additions to their green services as well as if it reinforces its credentials with the increased investment in the development of it’s people to allow them to grow to their highest career potential while the company and Macau thrive.

Between 27 and 29 March, the company is going to be at the MIECF 2014 (Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition) presenting its services, latest investments and strategies that have been promoting the sustainable development of Macau and surrounding communities. Following the tradition of inviting their business associates from outside of Macau to showcase at the MIECF their technologies and their joint cooperation with CESL Asia, Tongfang Environment Co., Ltd, the well reputed and one of the leading engineering, technology conglomerates from the PRC, will join CESL Asia to promote their environmental engineering solutions and proposals for Macau.

Mr. Antonio Trindade, the Chairman of the Board of CESL Asia, emphasizes; “when our company promotes its services as Green, sustainable solutions that are most suitable for our clients and for the development of Macau, we are not just promoting the latest technology nor is this merely fashionable business talk or a sort of marketing flag. Our services are designed to be a combination of the best suited technology offers from all over the World and the best local services capabilities — that we provide by local talented professionals with well developed service skills — that delivers the highest and best value solution to our clients in Macau, a resources challenged city with the largest, most intense and sophisticated market for leisure services”. Macau’s fierce competition for its limited resources, combined with a consensual outlook for continued economic growth and government policies advocating economic diversification and regional integration, “are urging us to develop new business solutions” and increase “our investment in further developing our people’s knowledge and their service skills in areas complementary to the core business of our clients in the dominant sectors of Public Services, leisure, gaming and retail”.

The Group has been providing architectural, engineering and planning consultancy, energy and technical services for both public and private sectors, managing the most critical environmental infrastructures in Macau. CESL Asia is currently responsible for the operation and maintenance of technical and energy facilities at the Macau International Airport, Galaxy Macau resort, City of Dreams Macau, Altira Macau, Wynn Macau and the Macau Peninsular Wastewater Treatment Plant, among many others.

The greenhouse gas emissions in Macau are mainly attributed to transportation and electricity consumption. The company estimates that, in the last 5 years the energy savings from the services provided by CESL Asia and implemented together with its clients, have eliminated around 17,300 tons of greenhouse gas emission, the approximate equivalent to planting 727,900 units of 5 meters high trees.

Last year CESL Asia was distinguished with the Excellence award on Environmental Performance, in the Business Awards 2013, for implementing practices, services and solutions which significantly reduce the environmental harm and foster resources saving. As a green company, CESL Asia has been introducing environmental friendly practices, such as the replacement of all the office lighting to LED lighting system and the installation of seven air purifiers, which led to the saving of more than 30% in CESL Asia’s office electricity consumption.

Macau, 6 September 2013 – Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, CESL Asia Group and its employees have been working in partnership with other leading companies in the local business community to grow a better and greener society, supporting and holding initiatives related to environmental conservation. Aiming to bring together the company and the community in natural investment issues like environmental conservation, CESL Asia was at the AIA Tower in Macau to share its concerns for sustainability and to support Caritas Macau.

On September 6, CESL Asia held its Charity Sales 2013 event in AIA Tower, which provided the venue, and took the opportunity to promote joint investments as well as social development by presenting its own environmentally friendly bags, encouraging the community to curb the use of plastic bags. On August 28th, the animated comedy movie “Despicable Me 2” delighted the excited crowd, with laughter and happiness filling everyone’s heart.

Most of these children either do not have family, or are neglected by their parents who often “don’t have time” to give them proper care and attention, and so have come to child care institutions. For the 3rd consecutive year, CESL Asia has been holding its Kids Movie Day, hoping to give some of these children an opportunity to spend an unforgettable day outside the child care centers. At this year’s event, we invited a group of 80 lively children, from three different organizations: Caritas Macau, Cradle of Hope Association and Kin Wa Single Parent Families Mutual Support Center.

To the great joy of the kids, CESL Asia prepared thoughtful gift packages for each of the kids, containing food and drinks, stationeries and Hello Kitty plush toys, with some items generously sponsored by McDonald’s Macau. Up to now, through the Kids Movie Day, CESL Asia has brought over 230 children to Macau cinemas, with the involvement and participation of 30 members of the company’s Social Investment Team. We were able to provide a meaningful and unforgettable summer morning to our young friends, and at the same time improve our staff’s understanding, leadership and communication skills with the communities served by our company.

CESL Asia, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is committed to enriching its staff’s knowledge, service skills and personal traits, inspiring a close relationship with the communities it serves and encouraging its employees to be active in seeking interaction. Our company desires to contribute to growing a better and more integrated society in Macau.
