The CESL Asia and Friends Sport Fun Day was held on 10 June at Workers Stadium, a cooperative effort to promote social integration and stimulate institutional, corporate and public awareness for the untapped potential for the challenged members of our community as contributors for the social and economic development of our community. The event, with the support of participating entities and individuals, succeeded in raising a total of MOP 80,000 for Macau Special Olympics (MSO) to empower its mission of transforming lives through sports.

This year’s event aimed at increasing the number of participants that are involved in CESL Asia’s annual Sport Fun Day activities by including a bocce ball tournament alongside with the annual football tournament which have received great support and recognition from those participating in previous years. The bocce tournament fostered face-to-face interactions among participating teams with MSO athletes and families as well as cultivated mutual understanding through the joy of participating in sports activities. The on-site Kids Corner extended the fun to the younger participants and also helped to introduce them to the benefits of an inclusive society into all aspects.

The impact and success of the event were attributed to the generous support of the participating teams, namely Administration of Airports Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, Banco Nacional Ultramarino, Be-1, BOC Macau Branch Sports Association, Ernst & Young, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Global Communications Advertising & Marketing Ltd., Golden Burger (Macau) Food Co. Ltd., Housing Bureau, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Ltd., Jorge Neto Valente, Lawyers and Notaries, Jornal Tribuna de Macau, Macau Coca-Cola Beverage Co. As committed at the establishment of its Social Investment program in 2000 and inspired by its motto “How to grow a city.”, CESL Asia will continue fostering the interaction among diverse parties of our community through sports events and other initiatives, while working with its staff, their families and business associates for the development of a prosperous and caring community.
