Colleagues Participated the ‘i3BAR’ Course in HK
同事赴港參與「i3BAR」課程

On July 22-24, four colleagues from the Finance & Accounting Department, Pamela Chow, Karmen Chan, Nelson Fong and Kevin

Qiu, participated in the “i3BAR” course held in Hong Kong. i3BAR represents the integrated, interactive and intelligent Excel Models
for Business Analytics and Reporting. This course is not about Excel functions, it is about the application and combination of those
functions in the most efficient manner to meet the needs in the workplace.
The three-day i3BAR training course introduced tactics to integrate multiple data sources, build reliable, sustainable and interactive
excelbased reporting models for decision making, create scenarios and what-if analysis for budget, and produce visually attractive
and impactful reports.
Nelson Fong, Senior Financial Analyst, expressed that the training has given him concepts to better consolidate different monthly
financial reports, which used to be a challenge for him when preparing cash flow report for the management. “I am inspired by its
simplicity and interactivity. The knowledge has enabled me to generate excellent reports.” Nelson remarked.
Kevin Qiu, Senior Accountant, said that the documents and reports he made before were usually unattractive, take much time to
prepare, and do not have interactive functions. “By using these integrated, interactive and intelligent spreadsheet solutions, I can
combine different reports into one file. Excel can ever act as Power Point when needed. In addition, the interactive functions and
chart selections allows me to present my reports in a visually attractive way. Now I can complete my management reports in just a
few clicks.” Kevin expressed.
According to the management, an improvement can be seen through the recent reports. The course has helped our colleagues to
simplify the reporting process and increase speed and accuracy, and free up time for analysis and other critical projects that aid good
decision making.

七 月廿二至廿四日，四位財務會計部同事周望萍小姐、陳嬌嬌小姐、馮耀聰先生和邱一葦先生赴港參加關於

「i3BAR」的課程。i3BAR代表以綜合的(Integrated)、互動的(Interactive)和智能的(Intelligent)的Excel模組去進行商業分析
及製作報告(Business Analytics & Reporting)。這門課程並非為Excel功能的介紹課程，而是透過應用及整合各種功能，以極
具效率的方法滿足各類工作需求。
這為期三日的培訓講解了如何有效地進行數據整合、建立可靠的互動性報告以協助決策、為預算模擬各種條件，以及美
化報告呈現方式的技巧。
高級財務分析員馮耀聰指在為管理層準備每月的現金流報表時，其呈現的繁複性令人很困擾。這個課程介紹了整合每月
財務報告的技巧，化繁為簡。他指：「課程授予的概念使我能建立簡約和具互動性的財務報告，優化我的工作。」
高級會計邱一葦指他之前製作的檔案及報告有時候會有些沉悶、缺乏互動性功能，以及需要大量的時間作準備。對於這
個課程，他稱：「這個綜合、互動、嶄新的解決方案能讓我將數個不同的報表合成一體。如有需要，Excel甚至可以Pow-
er Point的方式呈現。此外，那些新增的互動性功能及圖表選擇，令我的報告更生動。現在要製作報告供管理層參閱，只
需按數鍵即可。」
管理層指從最近的財務報告中，能看出課程的良好成效。課程上所學到的知識有助相關同事簡化制作報表的程序，同時
提高效率和準確度，以便他們能把更多的時間投放在分析及其他重要的項目上，以作出更好的商業決定。
