Q    What are the damages after typhoon attack and the progress of follow-up works?
          問 吹襲過後的損毀情況及後續的善後工作如何?

        Since airport terminal building was built over 20 years ago, some of the repair parts or materials are not easy to find now.
        Besides difficulties in finding corresponding materials, even after we find them, trial test and equipment replacement will
        take some time. Meanwhile, this incident required us to replace the old equipment, so more time were still needed for full
        recovery, and our team will work hard to assist on this matter.
       由於機場大樓的建成時間已超過20多年,部分修補物料並不容易尋得,除了尋找對應物料的困難外,取得後
       的修復工作、設備更換後的測試等亦需花上一定時間。但同時,我們亦可藉這個機會更換老化陳舊的設備。所
       以,目前為止,需要一定時間才能完全恢復,但我們團隊亦會全力以赴持續進行後續的善後工作。





































       Q    Learning from this experience, any improvements are needed?
         問 吸取今次經驗後,處理上有何改善方法?
       After Typhoon Hato, we met with the client and other operating units to discuss about the situation, follow-up works and
       improvement plans for future typhoon. First, cooperation within airport operating units are most critical since shortage of
       manpower occurred and we are glad that other units gave a helping hand. Second is related to logistic issue, which included
       staffs’ resting area and F&B support etc. Third is about supply of emergency materials such as wooden board, sandbags
       etc. Since there was severe damage of airport and we never expected that we would need so much amount of emergency
       materials. This meeting allowed all operating units of the airport to discuss about better preparation for future typhoons.

       風災過後,我們與客戶及其他機場營運單位開會,一同檢討是次颱風期間的工作情況,並探討颱風過後的善後
       工作及將來再有強颱風的預防措施等議題,以改善日後的服務質量及危機處理方式。首先,機場各營運單位的
       合作:像是當天人手短缺問題。慶幸當天其他單位的大家互相幫忙,才能一同處理問題。其次,後勤問題:包
       括同事的休息,飲食等支援;最後,物料的庫存及供應問題:像是應急物料如木板、沙包等,因為此次颱風的
       破壞力很強,這令我們察覺到各應急物料的實際用量遠比庫存多。機場的各個單位齊聚一堂進行會議,討論日
       後颱風的應對工作,完善預防措施機制。

       Q     What made you stick to your work during Typhoon?
         問   在超時工作情況下,是甚麼讓你堅守崗位?


       We definitely have to work closely with each other in such a disaster and this is all about responsibility. During typhoon
       day, we witnessed the professional attitude and working method of our staff, they worked hard without any complaints.
       Actually every unit and team gave a great effort in assisting the airport to resume operation in such a short time, and we
       feel relieved when we see passengers are safe, the planes landed and took off safely.

       面對如此災難性的事件時,大家理應當齊心協力,這同時也是我們的職責所在。颱風當天,更突顯了同事們的
       專業態度及嚴謹的做事方式,而且他們毫無怨言,默默地奔走各處進行搶修。因此機場能順利在短時間內復
    7  航,每個單位及團隊都是不可或缺的。當看到飛機安全升降、乘客安全的時候,我們才鬆了一口氣。
