    Tom: There is a saying that “you will never understand
    a person unless you have walked a mile in his shoes!” If
    we keep this in mind, most of the “unnecessary conflicts”
    brought about by the difference in cultures can be avoid-
    ed or minimized, causing the environment conducive to
    efficiency and productivity. Also, never think that coming
    from a different background makes you different from
    other individuals. Always bring out the best of you. Be
    confident but not arrogant. Be flexible and try to adapt in
    every situation.

    Nath: Don’t let language or cultural barriers hinder you
    from performing your job well. Take them as positive
    challenges. Members of the CESL Asia family may come
    from different backgrounds but we all have the same goal.
    Be yourself, be positive and always give your best.
