Carmo Correia - Bridge of Light
With an objective to promote the cultural
development of Macau, and support the
work of local artists, CESL Asia sponsored
Carmo Correia’s book - Bridge of Light. The
imagery project of the Portuguese
photographer is a historical look at the
Portuguese routes in Asia, and the
country’s cultural and economic relations
with Asian nations. In December 2013 we
were delighted to be at the book launch
ceremony, taking place at Casa Garden in
Macau.
Carmen Amado Mendes - Portugal, China and the Macau Negotiations
As part of CESL Asia’ Social Investment Program, the aims are
to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and physical well-
being in Macau communities and among staff members.
Accordingly, we contributed to the launch of Carmen Amado
Mendes book “Portugal, China and the Macau Negotiations” in
2013. Our company has supported this meaningful project
which analyses the diplomatic negotiations among Portugal,
China, our home city Macau during the Portuguese colony
handover process. CESL Asia purchased 100 books, funding in
equivalent to around MOP 23,000 on this project. Our company
then in turn donated nearly 40 copies to a number of libraries
and universities in mainland China, Portugal, Hong Kong and
Macau.
