In the field of civil engineering, Mr. Vittorio Wong’s successful completion of the rigorous professional assessment to become a Macau Registered Civil Engineer reflects MPS’s emphasis on balancing engineering practice with regulatory compliance. As a flagship program of the CESL Asia Social Investment Initiative, the CESL Asia Social Investment Initiative Kid’s Drawing Contest, organized by CESL Asia in partnership with the Macau Youth Art Association, has proudly reached its sixth edition. Centered on creative education, the contest encourages participants to explore social issues, cultivate forward-thinking perspectives, and express their potential. By nurturing creativity and social awareness, it provides a strong foundation for the next generation to grow a brighter and more sustainable future.

This year’s theme, “Future Urban Planners,” encourages young artists to step into the roles of tomorrow’s urban planners. Participants are challenged to reimagine Macau’s urban environments, envisioning a sustainable city that harmoniously integrates eco-friendly spaces, smart city technologies, and community-focused urban design. Through their creativity, students can bring to life a vision where innovation, nature, and people coexist in harmony.

Mr. Antonio Trindade, President and CEO of CESL Asia, emphasized that the contest served as an educational opportunity that stimulated imagination and inspired innovative thinking. Through artistic creation, we aimed to guide the next generation to engage with urban development from an early age, cultivating creativity and a strong sense of mission, and inspiring them to consider how innovative design can bring about positive and lasting change. In addition, he shared an inspiring message with the participants, encouraging young minds and their educators to prioritize creativity and innovation.

Mr. Lai Sio Kit, President of the Macau Youth Art Association, commended this year’s submission for their outstanding technical skill and creativity and noted that the young artists combined boundless imagination with a thoughtful understanding of urban development. Their complex compositions and bold use of color were striking, offering unique perspective on the future city.

One of the judges, Ms. Victoria Kuan, Director General of Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, remarked that considering the young age of the participants, the artistic skill, creativity, and depth of imagination evident in their work were particularly commendable and appreciated.

Ms. Patrícia Quaresma, Director of IPOR, highly praised that the artworks clearly and effectively reflected the theme of the contest, showcasing thoughtful ideas on the use of renewable energy to promote sustainability and future development for the city and its residents.

Ms. Sandra Ng, Assistant Professor at the University of Saint Joseph, noted that the artworks fully presented a harmonious integration of Macau’s identity with a vision for a sustainable city, symbolizing proactive participation in sustainability efforts.

The Kid’s Drawing Contest 2025 has successfully concluded, with the awards ceremony taking place on September 9 at the Dr. Stanley Ho Auditorium, Consulate General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong. With distinguished guests in attendance, alongside award recipients and their families, the ceremony took place in a warm yet dignified atmosphere, marking a successful conclusion to the sixth edition of the contest.
